The film The Last Train To Warsaw (2019) is set in a post-apocalyptic scenery of the city of Łódź and tells of the hopeful preparations of four protagonists before their departure to Warsaw. For them, Warsaw is a place where careers are pursued, and dreams come true.
With high hopes for attaining fame as an art collective and driven by a past of fading success and precarious life, all efforts are vested toward the chance of a better future elsewhere. In the process, the train becomes a symbol of progress and the transition to a new, prosperous life.
The Last Train To Warsaw is a tribute to the starkly contrasting city of Łódź, where decay and splendor are side by side. The film regards the present as a momentary tension between past disappointments and future hopes, between success and failure. It shows the longing for change and the hope for a better future.
Fashion House Limanka [Dom Mody Limanka] is an artist collective founded in 2017 in Łódź, Poland.
